In the event you need back to high school dinner ideas, what might be more kid friendly than a bowl of Spaghetti and Meatball Soup made with turkey meatballs cooked in a light-weight tomato broth!
Spaghetti and Meatball Soup
This Spaghetti and Turkey Meatball Soup is a one pot meal my whole family loves and leftovers are great for lunch! I first shared this back in 2011, I used to make this on a regular basis when Madison was little. It’s an ideal back to high school dinner! I finally got a probability to rephotograph it, which I actually have desired to do for some time. It’s very fashionable in my home, and I’m sure it’ll be in yours too. I actually have at all times tried to make one meal for the entire family. When Madison was a toddler just learning to eat solid foods, I’d give her less broth, and she or he would eat the spaghetti soup along with her messy hands. I never made separate meals, no frozen chicken nuggets. And now that she’s a pre-teen she’s such an incredible eater. I prefer to make use of 93% lean ground turkey, but when you must reduce the fat more 99% will work.
Are you able to cook spaghetti directly within the soup?
Although you’ll be able to cook pasta separate in water, I at all times cook spaghetti right within the soup so there’s less dishes to clean.
How one can Freeze
Freeze leftover spaghetti soup and meatball in small containers so you’ll be able to pull it out on busy nights if you need something fast to feed your kids. The soup will last within the fridge for about 4 days and within the freezer for 3 months. You’ll be able to thaw it overnight within the refrigerator or reheat it within the microwave or on the stove straight from frozen.
Variations:
- Meatballs: Swap ground turkey for lean ground chicken or beef.
- Pasta: Substitute spaghetti for one more pasta shape, like elbow macaroni or rotini. You can too use whole-wheat noodles.
- Liquid: For the reason that pasta expands, you’ll be able to add more broth if vital.
- Vegetables: Be at liberty so as to add some vegetables like spinach or chopped carrots and celery.
