Mpox — formerly called monkeypox — is prone to make a comeback this yr, with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warning that the brand new wave may very well be worse than last yr.

But by November, scientists from the University of Missouri warned that mutations within the virus might need allowed it to grow stronger and smarter in evading antiviral drugs and vaccines.
